Best Restaurants in Llandudno
From traditional fish & chips, to classic Italians, there are some absolutely fantastic restaurants in Llandudno to choose from with the town appearing to offer something that will appeal to all taste buds and dietary requirements.
With such a large number of eateries to choose from, making that final decision can prove to be quite a challenge. We have therefore put our heads together to create a top 5 list featuring what we consider to be the best restaurants in Llandudno. Hopefully this will make your decision making process a little bit easier. Without further ado, let's get to the starters:
1, Osborne’s Café & Grill
We have put Osborne’s Café & Grill down as the best restaurant in Llandudno on account of the pure excellence of the experience that the eatery offers.
You will immediately pick up on this from the moment you step foot inside the restaurant which is decked out in dazzling chandeliers and rather expensive looking art. You will almost feel like you have just walked into the Ritz.
The food available is just as spectacular with their 3 course set menu made up of a carefully selected array of classics including Ribeye steaks, traditional Welsh lamb and Grilled salmon. All orders from the 3 course menu come with a sensational glass of wine which is tailored to suit the choice of meal.
While the food is great, it is the overall experience which really sets this classy restaurant apart from the competition.
2. La Taverna
La Taverna can rightly lay claim to being the best Italian restaurant in Llandudno. A mainstay of the town, the restaurant has built a solid reputation for excellence with a traditional Italian menu featuring pizzas, pastas, steaks and much more.
Situated at the top of Church Walks, it is quite easy to miss the restaurant given its rather sunken position between the Belmont and Beach House hotels. While the nearby Johnnie Dough’s does produce some exceptional pizzas, nothing can quite beat authentic Italian cuisine.
If you have a sweet tooth, the desserts are just as good as the mains, being made of Italian classics such as Tiramisu and panna cotta. However, we’d also highly recommend the chocolate fudge cake which is a real treat for chocolate lovers.
3. Enoch's Fish & Chips
You can’t go to a traditional British seaside town such as Llandudno without treating yourself to fish and chips and those which are available at Enoch’s are probably the best fish & chips in town.
Located just outside of the town centre, Enoch’s is the number 1 restaurant in Llandudno junction and has occupied its current position since 1963. The restaurant underwent something of a revolution in 2006 when the current proprietors decided to focus on becoming more sustainable. This has led to them becoming the first fish & chip shop in Wales to earn a MSC accreditation. They also support the local area, with 25p of every homemade fish cake purchased at the restaurant being donated to the RNLI.
Enoch’s obviously aren’t going to give away any secrets, but they use their own special blend of high-oleic sunflower oil to cook the fresh ingredients which are sourced locally. The result is a taste sensation and in our view the best fish and chips in Llandudno.
4. Forte’s Restaurant
Forte’s has been a mainstay of Llandudno for decades and this is reflected in the experience that the restaurant offers with the interior very much being in keeping with that of a traditional British seaside diner.
The food on offer is equally as traditional being made up of dishes such as fish & chips, burgers and lighter bites such as jacket potatoes with beans. Irrespective of whether you are looking for breakfast, lunch or an evening meal, Forte’s is sure to have an option that is perfect for you and will almost certainly be cooked to perfection.
Make sure that you leave room for dessert too because Forte’s selection of ice creams are to die for.
5. The Perfect Circle At Wu's
A slightly more recent addition to the town of Llandudno is The Perfect Circle at Wu’s. The eatery has quickly garnered a reputation for excellence with many claiming that it has already established itself as the best Chinese restaurant in Llandudno.
The interior is incredibly modern without straying too far from its Asian heritage, providing a comfortable and welcoming environment which has led to the restaurant often proving to be a sell out. Make sure you book ahead to avoid the disappointment of missing out.
As for the menu, there won’t be too many surprises with traditional Chinese meals such as sweet & sour chicken, cod in black bean sauce and Peking duck. They also offer a set menu options which are very reasonably priced.
