Many of the best places to visit near Abergele are steeped in history, and unquestionably one of the most historic is Conwy Castle. Built in the 13th Century by Edward I, it was designed as an English stronghold against the unruly Welsh! Furthermore the castle is magnificent from every angle, but the best views are from the battlements.
Whilst visiting Conwy castle, we would also advise a visit to the local harbour which is the perfect spot for a relaxing stroll. It offers stunning views across the water to Deganwy, and is also a great place to grab some fish and chips – just beware the seagulls!
There are plenty of traditional seaside places to visit near Abergele too, with Llandudno, Rhyl, Prestatyn & Colwyn Bay all within easy driving reach of guests staying at Tan Rallt. You can enjoy a stroll on Llandudno pier, build sandcastles with the kids in Prestatyn, head to the traditional seaside arcades in Rhyl or grab a ice cream as you relax in the laid back destination of Colwyn Bay.
