Festival No 6

No 6 Festival site, Portmeirion
07 – 10 September

Set in Portmeirion with a name taking inspiration from The Prisoner, the 1960’s spy-fiction series shot there, Festival Number 6 is a different take on the ‘city festival’ with stages all over the Italian-inspired seaside town. No.6 is an intimate, bespoke weekend of music, arts and culture.

Ironman Wales, Pembrokeshire

The Good Life is created by Cerys Matthews, Steve ‘Abbo’ Abbott and Charlie and Caroline Gladstone who have put together the very best of music, books, food and the great outdoors. This will be a voyage of fun and discovery for the whole family.

The Brutal

16 September

The Brutal Extreme Triathlons start in the beautiful Lake Padarn. The bike course goes through stunning scenery and over some challenging hills. And finally, the run takes you on a undulating trail round the lake and up and down Wales’ highest mountain, Snowdon.

Sandman Triathlon

16 – 17 September

In an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Anglesey Sandman Triathlon comprises of four distances, the Sandman Full, the Sandman Sprint, the Sandman Savage and the Sandman Legend. You will also be able to compete as a relay team in both the full and sprint distances.

Abergavenny Food Festival
Crowds at the Abergavenny Food Festival

16 – 17 September

One of the biggest events in the UK foodie calendar, with 200 exhibitors from Wales and further afield, a food Academy for children with hands-on workshops, a rolling programme of chef demonstrations featuring the region’s finest and special masterclasses, workshops, tutored tastings and talks. New for this year, the Artisan Kitchen School will host cooking classes throughout the Festival weekend.

23 – 24 September

This community event, entirely volunteer-run, won‘t get the biggest names, but it’s still one of the friendliest and most enjoyable food festivals around. Expect food stalls, live music, street theatre, talks and tastes, chef demonstrations and free children’s activities.
