Travel North Wales | National Gardening Week

It’s #NationalGardeningWeek so this week we thought we’d share some of the beautiful gardens here in North Wales 💐

For many visitors who choose to holiday in North Wales, the beautiful scenery and landscape is a major attraction. While we may be on the coast, there’s a lot more to North Wales than just sandy beaches!

Read on for our 5 favourite gardens to visit when you stay with us here at Tan Rallt Holiday Park.

1. Bodnant Gardens

20 minutes from Tan Rallt Holiday Park

Our first is the beautiful Bodnant Garden on the Conwy Valley.

This National Trust property is a firm favourite among lots of our owners, and we highly recommend it to guests who are visiting North Wales for the first time!

Bodnant Garden is home to the UK’s longest Laburnum Arch which flowers every year in May/June – we’re sure you’ll agree it looks spectacular!

(Another fun fact is that in 2018 a new adaptation of ‘The Secret Garden’ was filmed at Bodnant Garden and we even had some of their lovely crew stay with us here on park!)

2. Conwy Water Gardens

30 minutes from Tan Rallt Holiday Park

The second garden we want to share with you this #NationalGardeningWeek is Conwy Water Gardens

You may remember that this was also one of our #TRTravelTips we featured before Pancake Day as one of our favourite parts of the Water Gardens is the Dutch Pancake House!

Conwy Water Gardens isn’t just for pancake lovers though, there’s so much to enjoy!

There are 3 coarse fishing lakes, an aquatic centre that houses over 100 different species of fish AND the very popular nature walk where you can see lots of wildlife (we especially love the otters!)

3. Plas Newydd

40 minutes from Tan Rallt Holiday Park

Our third must visit garden in North Wales is a little further afield… in fact it’s just outside of Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch!

Plas Newydd is a National Trust property just over the Menai Bridge on Anglesey, and we think that it’s the perfect day trip to add to list for your future holidays. The gorgeous gardens are set on the shores of the Menai Straits, so the view across to Snowdonia is just as beautiful as the gardens themselves!

National Trust members who stay with us have lots of beautiful attractions to choose from when they stay with us, in fact we may have just come up with a future blog post idea!

4. Tan Rallt Holiday Park

On your doorstep!

We’re over halfway through our #NationalGardeningWeek suggestions and we couldn’t miss the opportunity to share some of our favourites from the grounds here at Tan Rallt.

We are very lucky to have a passionate and dedicated team here on park who take great pride in their work and we think you’ll agree that it shows!

5. Happy Valley

25 minutes from Tan Rallt Holiday Park

It’s the first of the month and time for our final #NationalGardeningWeek must visit garden in North Wales!

If you follow the White Rabbit up to the side of the Great Orme you’ll find a spot for a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party on Llandudno’s Alice in Wonderland trail at the Happy Valley Botanical Gardens! 💐

Located on the side of the Great Orme with incredible views of the sea, Happy Valley is a great place to stop for a picnic!
