Our Top 5 Places to go Fishing in North Wales
When you visit North Wales one of the first things you notice is the sea! We have miles and miles of beautiful coastline, with sandy beaches, hidden coves and busy harbours to explore!
So what better way to spend your holiday time than by going fishing? There are lots of places to go fishing in North Wales. It’s a great activity for the whole family to enjoy when you stay at a caravan or lodge here at Tan Rallt Holiday Park.

1. Tan Y Mynydd Trout Fisheries
10 minutes from Tan Rallt Holiday Park
Tan y Mynydd is a trout fishing haven, set in beautiful Welsh countryside. Fly fishing on five lakes which are stocked with rainbow, brown, tiger and blue trout. Two beginners lakes where bait fishing (coarse methods) is encouraged. Tuition and tackle hire available on site. Teas and coffees available.
2. Llandudno Pier
25 minutes from Tan Rallt Holiday Park
Llandudno has fishing from the Pier, which is at the western end of the North Shore and fishes onto mainly clean ground.
Fish caught around Llandudno include whiting, flatties, dogfish, cod, dabs, mackerel, bass, codling, plaice, flounders, smoothound, coalfish.
Llandudno also has fishing from North Shore and West Shore, plus rock marks, the most well known of which are probably Pigeon Holes, on the Great Orme and Angel Bay, on the east side of the Little Orme.
3. Conwy Water Gardens
25 minutes from Tan Rallt Holiday Park
Within the grounds of Conwy Water Gardens are three well stocked coarse fishing lakes. These lakes enjoy stunning views over the Rowen Valley and are surrounded by the natural woodland & farm land of North Wales. Many of our regular fishermen insist that we are North Wales Premier Fishery. All our lakes have purpose built fishing pegs with paths leading to all fishing pegs. Disabled access is available from our car park which is only 30 meters from our specimen lake & also our new toilet facilities are available next to the lakes.
A tackle shop is on site with a good selection of basic tackle & baits such as maggots, worms, pellets & ground bait. Light refreshments are available from the shop and for something more substantial from the Dutch Pancake House and Restaurant serving delicious sweet & savoury pancakes & a choice of specials from 11am.
4. Llyn Crafnant Trout Fisheries
50 minutes from Tan Rallt Holiday Park
Trout fishing at Llyn Crafnant in the hills above the village of Trefriw. A perfect setting for a great day out. Fish for trout in natural surroundings in this stunning North Wales valley.
Llyn Crafnant is 63 acres and is stocked with rainbow trout, supplementing the wild brown trout.
5. Sea Fishing Trips
25 minutes from Tan Rallt Holiday Park
Sea Fishing Trips in Conwy, North Wales, specialises in wreck fishing, deep sea fishing, and reef fishing. The chartered boat, Gwen-Paul-M, with full wheelhouse electronics, will take you fishing anywhere from Anglesey to Liverpool Bay on specialised boat trips to catch fish including pollack, cod, conger, bass and mackerel.
