Just a short 5 minute drive from Tan Rallt is the beautifully restored Gwrych Castle. The grade I listed country house boasts approximately 250 acres of historic gardens parkland for you to explore. In addition, guided tours are available as well as events which attract everyone from all over North Wales. This autumn Gwrych castle are hosting a range of events which are prefect if you are planning to visit the local area.
September starts with Gwrych Goes to War Event, which has look at the impact of World Wars on North Wales. As well as that you can; meet their WWI trench team, see original artifacts, take part in a drill and speak with re-enactors. Furthermore for the children there will be a crafts stall in the chapel, face painting and local stalls. Also, all of the above includes access to the unique castle and beautiful castle grounds. With October comes Halloween, and Gwrych Castle are holding a some of the most amazing events in North Wales to celebrate. Starting on the 26th October, each day during half term a ‘Spooky Halloween Trail’ which will take you round the castle grounds. Also, the trail offers a fun twist based around the fairy tale of Sleeping Beauty, and is open to all ages!
Furthermore, for those of you staying at Tan Rallt and are looking for something a little spookier, Gwrych Castle has you covered. Real life ghost encounters by visitors to Gwrych Castle are commonplace, but are you brave enough to join them? If you have the guts to spend the night in a haunted castle, Gwrych never fails to deliver with lots of paranormal activity. Their in-house team will take you where the haunting is happening. This event is for persons aged 16 and over only, and also starts on the 26th October.
